Efecto de Lactiplantibacillus plantarum en un modelo de dolor inflamatorio inducido por formalina en ratas.

RESUMEN
Introducción. El dolor inflamatorio es un tipo de dolor adaptativo y protector,
provocado por daño o infección tisular y mediado por la liberación de
factores inflamatorios. Diversos estudios han mostrado que los probióticos, especialmente del género Lactobacillus, pueden disminuir
los factores inflamatorios y nociceptivos, lo que se asocia
con una reducción del dolor.
Objetivo. Evaluar el efecto antinociceptivo de L.
plantarum en un modelo de dolor inflamatorio inducido
por formalina.
Métodos. Se utilizaron ratas Wistar hembras con un peso
entre 180 y 200 g, y se dividieron en dos grupos (n=4
cada uno): un grupo vehículo sin tratamiento y un grupo
probiótico tratado con L. plantarum (1.5 × 10⁸ UFC/mL)
por vía oral durante seis meses. Al finalizar la intervención,
se realizó la prueba de formalina y se registró el número
de contracciones en la pata inyectada durante 60 minutos.
Luego se calculó el área bajo la curva y se compararon los
grupos mediante la prueba t de Student.
Resultados. En la fase 1, el grupo tratado con L.
plantarum mostró menor respuesta nociceptiva inicial en
comparación con el grupo vehículo, aunque este efecto
no fue significativo. Sin embargo, en la fase 2, el grupo
tratado con el probiótico presentó un menor número de
contracciones a lo largo del tiempo, lo que indica un efecto
antinociceptivo de L. plantarum.
Conclusiones. Estos resultados apoyan la hipótesis de que
L. plantarum podría representar una alternativa terapéutica
prometedora que coadyuve en el manejo del dolor agudo
inflamatorio actuando a través del eje intestino-cerebro.
