INTRODUCCIÓN
La población mundial está envejeciendo y para 2030 una de cada seis personas tendrá más de 60 años en todo el mundo. Esto plantea una serie de desafíos para la prevalencia de enfermedades y cirugías de columna, además incrementa el grado de multi morbimortalidad, deterioro funcional/ cognitivo, y la polifarmacia, estos factores conducen a niveles más altos de riesgo para la cirugía y el riesgo inherente anestésico que lo acompaña.
