Los procedimientos quirúrgicos implican un daño por sí mismos para buscar un fin, la mejoría, el tratamiento o una atención paliativa, los cuales se necesitan realizar bajo anestesia, esto en los pacientes puede generar una experiencia estresante de acuerdo a los eventos previos quirúrgicos o desconocimiento del estado anestésico quirúrgico por el paciente.
