Prehabilitación como pilar de ERAS: ¿a quién, cuándo y cómo implementar programas efectivos?

Los programas de recuperación acelerada
después de la cirugía (ERAS, por sus siglas
en inglés) –también conocidos como vías de
optimización perioperatoria o esquemas fasttrack–
constituyen un enfoque multidisciplinario
y multimodal ideado para disminuir la respuesta
al estrés quirúrgico y favorecer la homeostasis
del paciente. Aunque inicialmente estas estrategias
se enfocaban en los períodos transoperatorios
y postoperatorios, la evidencia actual
ha transformado el paradigma e introducido la
prehabilitación como pilar fundamental de los
protocolos ERAS contemporáneos. El objetivo
es elevar la reserva funcional del paciente antes
del insulto quirúrgico.
