FRAGMENTO
El manejo respiratorio perioperatorio ha evolucionado desde la suplementación pasiva de oxígeno hacia estrategias dirigidas a la optimización fisiológica del intercambio gaseoso y la mecánica ventilatoria. La oxigenoterapia convencional, aunque ampliamente utilizada, presenta limitaciones relevantes en cuanto a la entrega efectiva de fracción inspirada de oxígeno (FiO2) y acondicionamiento del gas, lo que puede resultar insuficiente en pacientes con aumento del trabajo respiratorio
o alteraciones de la ventilación alveolar.
