Fractura de la cadera en niños. Informe epidemiológico de sus complicaciones

RESUMEN

Se presenta un estudio retrospectivo de 15 niños menores de 15 años de edad que fueron hospitalizados y de 10 niños tratados como pacientes externos, en total 25 pacientes, en un lapso de 30 meses (enero 1997 a junio de 1999) que presentaron fractura proximal del fémur. El tratamiento quirúrgico fue con tornillos o clavos en 22, las férulas se usaron sólo en dos niños mientras que uno permaneció sin tratamiento. Sin embargo, se presentaron 25 complicaciones: nueve pacientes con necrosis, ocho acortamientos de miembro pélvico, cuatro con coxa vara, tres con pseudoartrosis y uno con cierre prematuro de la fisis.
