RESUMEN

De los múltiples tumores renales benignos y malignos que se presentan en la infancia, el teratoma es el más raro. Muchos resultan ser teratomas retroperitoneales con invasión renal secundaria, otros corresponden a tumores germinales mixtos metastásicos con un componente teratomatoso, o un tumor de Wilms teratoide que tiene muchas similitudes con un teratoma, o bien resultan ser metástasis de un teratoma gonadal o extragonadal. Aquí se documenta el caso de un niño de cuatro meses de edad con aumento de volumen abdominal desde el nacimiento por una masa en el riñón izquierdo que corresponde a un teratoma maduro.
