Lactancia con calostro en la enterocolitis necrosante del neonato

RESUMEN

En la enterocolitis necrosante intervienen mediadores de la inflamación, como el factor activador de plaquetas. Se ha observado que la leche materna puede ejercer un efecto benéfico en la evolución de esta enfermedad.
Material y métodos: Se trata de un ensayo clínico, en 14 recién nacidos de menos de 37 semanas de gestación, con diagnóstico de enterocolitis. Distribuidos en dos grupos: grupo A (n = 7), que recibió el tratamiento convencional, y el grupo B ( n = 7), que recibió leche humana (temprana) a razón de 30 cal/Kg/día. La evolución se valoró por el residuo gástrico, distensión abdominal, sangre en heces, íleo metabólico, neumatosis intestinal y complicaciones.
Resultados: La enterocolitis predominó en masculinos (3:1); los niños tuvieron un peso de 2,052 ± 1,621 g y uno edad gestacional de 33 ± 9.76 semanas; el estadio 1A predominó en 85.7%. El grupo presentó una mejoría significativa, tanto clínica como radiológica.
Conclusión: La leche materna temprana en el tratamiento mejora la evolución clínica y radiológica de los niños, prematuros con ECN.
