RESUMEN

Esta revisión ofrece una actualización de las nuevas opciones anticonceptivas vinculadas con el sistema intrauterino liberador de progestina, el parche y el anillo anticonceptivo, el implante único liberador de progestina, anticoncepción extendida, anticoncepción hormonal de emergencia y los recientes avances en anticoncepción hormonal masculina. Estos métodos representan el progreso sustancial en el campo de la anticoncepción para obtener regímenes aceptables de control de natalidad, inocuos y efectivos.
