Fracturas de antebrazo y muñeca en niños y adolescentes

RESUMEN

Las fracturas de antebrazo son muy frecuentes en la edad pediátrica, 45% de todas las fracturas. Pueden asentarse sobre la diáfisis del cúbito o radio y pueden acompañarse de luxación proximal del radio (Monteggia) o de luxación distal (Galeazzi). Su tratamiento inicial siempre debe ser mediante reducción cerrada e inmovilización en una escayola. Cuando son expuestas o irreductibles se debe llevar a cabo tratamiento quirúrgico.
