Fractura de hueso hioides. Caso clínico y revisión bibliográfica

RESUMEN

La fractura del hueso hioides es muy poco frecuente, corresponde al 0.002 por ciento de todas las fracturas. Se han descrito en la literatura 21 casos. El tratamiento es conservador; sin embargo, puede requerir intervención quirúrgica, la cual involucra el manejo de la vía aérea, el tratamiento de perforaciones faríngeas asociadas y el manejo de la sintomatología dolorosa. La importancia de la fractura del hueso hioides radica en el diagnóstico oportuno y en conocer el daño potencial a estructuras adyacentes. Se reporta el caso de paciente femenino de 15 años de edad con fractura de hueso hioides valorada en el Hospital General «Dr. Darío Fernández Fierro», ISSSTE.
