ABSTRACT
Hyoid fracture is very slightly frequent, corresponds to 0.002 per cent of all the fractures. 21 cases have been described in the literature. The treatment is conservative; nevertheless, it can need surgical intervention which involves the managing of the airway, the treatment of associated pharyngeal perforations and the managing of the painful symptomatology. The importance of hyoid fracture takes root in opportune diagnosis and in knowing the potential damage to adjacent structures. We report a case of 15-year-old feminine patient with hyoid fracture valued in Hospital General «Dr. Darío Fernández Fierro», ISSSTE.
