Complicaciones de la plastía del tendón de Aquiles

RESUMEN

Se presenta un estudio retrospectivo y transversal, que analiza la frecuencia de las complicaciones de la plastía por ruptura del tendón de Aquiles, realizado en el período de enero de 1999 a junio del 2000. Se incluyeron 21 pacientes con un rango de edades entre 20 y 51 años. Se tomaron en cuenta variables como sitio y lugar de la lesión, tiempo de evolución, tipo de plastía, inmovilización y rehabilitación. La complicación más frecuente observada fue la debilidad muscular en un 52.3%, seguida de limitación funcional en 23.8% y atrofia en un 19%, quedando en segundo plano las complicaciones inmediatas como recidiva de la ruptura, infección y necrosis cutánea en un 4.7%.
