RESUMEN

El quiste por duplicación esofágica es una anomalía congénita poco frecuente. La mayoría de los casos son asintomáticos y su diagnóstico se establece habitualmente de forma incidental. La posibilidad de que se desarrollen complicaciones (hemorragia, infección) e incluso se malignicen hace que el tratamiento de elección de estas lesiones sea quirúrgico.
