RESUMEN

La amebiasis hepática es una manifestación grave de infección diseminada, ocurre en menos del 1% de los individuos infectados, puede complicarse con ruptura hacia el peritoneo, tórax o a través de la piel. El diagnóstico de absceso hepático amibiano se realiza con los datos clínicos, imagen hepática y pruebas serológicas. Se describe el caso de un niña de 2 años con absceso hepático amibiano complicado con ruptura intraabdominal y torácica.
