RESUMEN

El eczema de manos (ECM) es la dermatosis más frecuente de las manos,y se trata de un importante problema médico, socio-personal y laboral para los pacientes afectos. Existen numerosos tratamientos para el ECM pero con una eficacia muy limitada. El fármaco de primera elección para el ECM son los corticoides tópicos de potencia moderada y alta . Un porcentaje relevante de estos pacientes no respondenal tratamiento corticoideo tópico, o responden sólo parcialmente. La alitretinoína oral ha demostrado ser efectiva y segura en el tratamiento del eczema crónico de manos refractario a corticoides tópicos potentes, y ha sido aprobada específicamente para este uso. En este artículo describimos el caso de una paciente diagnosticada de ECM grave, resistente a todos los tratamientos previos (tópicos y sistémicos) y que fue tratada con éxito mediante alitretinoína oral a dosis de 30 mg/día, con muy buena tolerancia al fármaco.
