Hernia ciática como causa de dolor pélvico crónico

RESUMEN

Las hernias ciáticas constituyen el grupo más escaso de las hernias del piso pélvico; sin embargo, deben considerarse en la etiología del dolor pélvico crónico. El adecuado diagnóstico de las hernias ciáticas ha permitido a los cirujanos tratar de manera exitosa pacientes con dolor pélvico agudo o crónico, con obstrucción intestinal o ureteral, y con sepsis urinaria o glútea. Debe tenerse en mente como diagnóstico diferencial ante el hallazgo de una masa glútea congénita o adquirida. El ginecólogo laparoscopista debe conocer la existencia de este defecto, familiarizarse con su aspecto a la visión laparoscópica y conocer el tratamiento laparoscópico de esta afección.
