Un caso de deterioro cognitivo, personal y social; en los niveles más bajos de funcionamiento

RESUMEN

Frecuentemente se observan en la calle personas mostrando conductas abigarradas como gritar, desnudarse, hurgar en la basura, etc. Suelen ser casos graves, que manifiestan una grave disfuncionalidad personal, social y frecuentemente, deterioro cognitivo. Son casos difíciles que llegan a los servicios de salud mental y en ocasiones desaniman a los profesionales. El objetivo del presente trabajo es evaluar el efecto de un tratamiento de rehabilitación cognitiva junto tratamiento farmacológico en una paciente de muy bajo funcionamiento que presenta deterioro intelectual, cognitivo, personal y social. En los resultados destaca una notable mejoría en el rendimiento cognitivo atencional, pero también se observan datos que insinúan mejoría en el funcionamiento psicosocial y sintomatología.
