RESUMEN

El pioderma gangrenoso es una manifestación extraintestinal de la enfermedad inflamatoria intestinal y corresponde a un trastorno ulcerativo del grupo de las dermatosis neutrofílicas. Se presenta en 20% de los pacientes con enfermedad de Crohn y en 5% de los pacientes con colitis ulcerativa; por otra parte, 50% de todos los piodermas gangrenosos se asocian con enfermedad inflamatoria intestinal. La primera línea de tratamiento la constituyen los corticosteroides sistémicos; pero actualmente la terapia biológica con infliximab y adalimumab ha demostrado tener buenos resultados.
