Pielonefritis enfisematosa

RESUMEN

La pielonefritis enfisematosa es una infección necrotizante del parénquima renal que afecta especialmente a pacientes diabéticos mal controlados. A pesar del diagnóstico oportuno y tratamiento adecuado es una afección grave, poco frecuente y de alta mortalidad. Para diagnosticarla se requiere gran agudeza clínica porque afecta el parénquima renal, tejido colector o los tejidos perinefríticos, o ambos. Se comunica un caso clínico típico, con factores de mal pronóstico y se insiste en la necesidad del diagnóstico clínico-radiológico y se hace una breve revisión del tema.
