RESUMEN

El melanoma ocular es la transformación neoplasia de melanocitos procedentes de la úvea, aunque es un cáncer poco común, “es el tumor maligno primario intraocular más frecuente en adultos y presenta una incidencia elevada de metástasis”. “La investigación de los factores pronósticos del melanoma ocular es importante para el manejo del paciente y para comprender los procesos biológicos que influyen en la capacidad de los tumores para metastatizar hematógenamente”. El pronóstico del melanoma ocular depende principalmente de sus características clínicas e histopatológicas.
