RESUMEN

Los problemas de estética, fonética y masticación, después de edentulismo de larga evolución debido a la atrofia del reborde alveolar, presentan un reto importante para el cirujano maxilofacial. Para la reconstrucción del maxilar y órganos dentarios, los implantes dentales y los injertos óseos han venido a solucionar gran parte de estos problemas. Presentamos un caso clínico de un paciente femenino de 48 años de edad, edéntula total en el maxilar a quien se le reconstruyó utilizando injerto de calota e implantes dentales y su restauración protésica a dos años del tratamiento con evolución favorable.
