RESUMEN

El histiocitoma fibroso presenta numerosas variantes clínico-patológicas, entre las que destacan: la variante aneurismática, celular, en empalizada, con células osteoclástica-like, de células claras, de células granulosas y el atípico. Aunque es considerado una neoplasia benigna, ciertas variantes pueden recurrir localmente e incluso metastatizar. Comunicamos un caso de histiocitoma fibroso atípico con características cito-arquitecturales más propias de un sarcoma. Creemos que debe prestarse especial atención a este tipo de neoplasias, a fin de evitar extirpaciones demasiado amplias e inapropiadas.
