ABSTRACT

The fibrous histiocytoma shows several clinicopathological variants: aneurysmal, cellular, palisading, osteoclastic-like cells, clear cells, granular and atypical. Despite the benign behavior reported for fibrous histiocytoma some variants has shown tendency for recurrence and even to metastasize. We report a case of an atypical fibrous histiocytoma with sarcoma-like features. Special care has to be taken regarding this type of tumours for avoiding aggressive and inappropriated excisions.
