Conocimientos y actitudes hacia la depresión, el diagnóstico predictivo y las investigaciones genéticas en individuos del municipio Holguín

RESUMEN

La depresión ha tenido una presencia constante a lo largo de la historia de la humanidad, y en las últimas décadas ha experimentado un notable incremento. En Cuba no ha sido suficientemente estudiada aún. Se realizó un estudio de corte transversal, analítico, de casos y controles a una muestra de 100 individuos, entre noviembre del 2011 y julio del 2012, con el objetivo de determinar conocimientos y actitudes hacia la depresión, el diagnóstico predictivo y las investigaciones genéticas en individuos afectados, familiares de riesgo, profesionales y estudiantes de medicina en el Policlínico Julio Grave de Peralta del municipio Holguín, a los cuales se les aplicó un cuestionario, previo consentimiento informado. Las variables cuantitativas fueron evaluadas mediante el test de Kolmogorov-Smirnoff. Para determinar diferencias estadísticamente significativas en el comportamiento de una variable continua entre más de dos grupos se utilizaron las pruebas ANOVA y Kruskal-Wallis; y en el comportamiento de una variable continua entre grupos de diferentes tamaños muéstrales, el modelo “a posteriori” de Scheffé. Para el análisis de la percepción del conocimiento se utilizó el estadígrafo de Mc Nemar. Como resultado de este estudio no se identificaron diferencias estadísticamente significativas entre los grupos estudiados respecto a los conocimientos sobre la depresión. La actitud positiva ante las pruebas y orientación genética fue superior en especialistas y estudiantes y la actitud hacia las investigaciones genéticas fue significativamente superior en los estudiantes. Se diseñó una estrategia de asesoramiento genético para la depresión basada en los resultados del estudio con un enfoque preventivo.
