Ultrasonografía del espacio epidural lumbar

RESUMEN

El ultrasonido es una herramienta diagnóstica y de monitoreo de gran utilidad en el período perioperatorio, debido a que ayuda al diagnóstico y optimiza el manejo. Se ha considerado como el tercer ojo del anestesiólogo por su gran utilidad para dirigir procedimientos que antes eran ciegos o guiados por referencias anatómicas, de los que destaca la anestesia neuroaxial, en especial el bloqueo epidural.
