ABSTRACT

We present the case of a male infant with cutaneous stigmas, a lipoma and reacted elevated angioma that ended in surgical resection with apparent spinal dysraphism. This poorly identified pathology is characterized by incomplete embryonic fusion of the neural tube covered by skin of normal appearance or with different suggestive findings without exposure of nervous tissue. In many cases, the tegumentary markers are the only evident manifestation, a fundamental reason for their proper identification and diagnostic integration by the pediatrician.
