ABSTRACT

The SARS-CoV-2 pandemic particularly in Mexico has hit the economic and health system brutally. Most of the health workers who have administrative and care functions found it necessary to know and implement a system never seen before, the hospital reconversion. Within this context, various areas and services are restructured. This paper shows how the restructuring of an emergent and decisive surgery service was carried out from the vision and execution of the general thoracic surgeon, a surgical area closely related to the critical clinical services essential in this pandemic.
