Reviewer index to stimulate external peer review

ABSTRACT

Introduction: The external review by peers or "peer review" is an evaluation process used both in scientific journals and for the awarding of prizes, funding and / or approval of research projects.
Objective: To propose an indicator or index to stimulate the work of the reviewer in Cuba.
Development: The proposed indicator was the Reviewer's Index: IR = Ʃ (work reviewed) (Impact factor of the journal) (H index).
Conclusions: Based on existing alternatives, an indicator or index is proposed that takes into account the reviewer's experience as an author and the quality of the journal where they request their work as reviewer.
