ABSTRACT

Meckel's diverticulum is the remnant of the omphalomesenteric duct and is considered the most common congenital malformation of the gastrointestinal tract. Most patients are asymptomatic, however patients who develop symptoms can manifest: abdominal pain, gastrointestinal tract bleeding, intestinal perforation or obstruction. The objective of this report is to present a case of internal hernia secondary to a Meckel's diverticulum, a rare cause of bowel obstruction.
