ABSTRACT
The timely identification of the signs and symptoms produced by the SARS-CoV-2 infection (COVID-19) is essential in medical and dental care; the detection of the condition must be timely and, if possible, anticipated to the application of tests definitive for diagnosis. The exhaustive search for strategies for this timely detection has led many researchers and scientists to determine the relevant symptoms, including taste and olfactory alterations, with a high degree of prediction. This review aims to show evidence of these alterations and their vital predictive element to promptly detect COVID-19 in the medical or dental office and clinical studies in the Mexican population.
