ABSTRACT
Dermoid and epidermoid cysts, as they are currently named, are benign lesions of the congenital type, clinically they have a slow grow and can appear anywhere in the human body. This type of lesions have been reported throughout history over more than 83 years since its first description by New and Erich until today, they are associated with multiple etiological aspects, as well as different theories about their pathogenesis. Several cases have been described that emphasize the size and their histological composition. Their presence in the maxillofacial region in relation to the midline are rare, and even rarer at the mouths floor, presenting as soft and displaceable neoplasms and depending on their location, they can be associated with superficial or deep tissues. In this article a bibliographic review was carried out, and three cases with both intraoral and extraoral manifestations, their behavior and therapeutic management were described, which proved no recidivism.
