ABSTRACT

The first studies on the Mediterranean diet emerged to be observed that the in habitants of the countries bathed by the Mediterranean sea were presenting a minor was prevailing of diseases cardiovascular, chronicle diseases, and had a greater life hope that populations of the rest of the world, above all in countries of the North of Europe and America’s. This phenomenon was not depending on the education level, neither on the social situation or the purchasing power, therefore all made to think that were tried to the diet and was related to the food habits.
