ABSTRACT

Every person who has a positive impact on society deserves our recognition, and Cicely Williams more than deserves it, since her activity had a worldwide impact on one of the most vulnerable aspects of the population: maternal and child health. Her vocation and her courage in defense of children made it possible to bring to light situations of great relevance. I mention three of those addressed in this text: 1) the value of medical care with vocation in the very place where health problems originate; 2) the impunity of commercial abuse with devastating consequences; 3) Breastfeeding saves lives, much more than any substitute. Honor to whom honor is due.
