ABSTRACT

This article portrays the interaction of a philosophy teacher with a high school student, who chose medicine as a profession, even though she was aware of the great difficulty in getting a place in college as a result of the great competition to do so. Faced with her anxiety and uncertainty, her teacher recommended reading works by the humanist doctor Gregorio Marañón, which inspired the composition of a fictitious dialogue between a restless student and the recommended author himself.
