ABSTRACT

A case of probable reinfection by COVID-19 in a health worker population in Pereira-Colombia is presented. 50-year-old female patient with a history of dyslipidemia, ap-pendectomy and hysterectomy, allergic to penicillin, who was detected as positive for COVID-19 infection on 04/25/2020 with negative PCR on 05/06/2020 and subsequent asymptomatic course for 233 days, captured by general symptoms given by: asthenia, myalgias and headache on 12/23/2020 with a new positive report on 12/26/2020 with Archivosde MedicinAVolumen 21 Nº 2 - Julio-Diciembre de 2021628Universidad de Manizales - Facultad de Ciencias de la Saludpersistence of dyspnea without other findings relevant to the physical examination, to date with adequate evolution. Discussion: it is considered a probable case of rein-fection by COVID-19 according to the guidelines proposed by the WHO, a case that is confirmed by epidemiological criteria of negative RT-PCR test during the first infection episode, it could be the action of a new strain for COVID-19.
