ABSTRACT
Keystone flap is an island advancement flap whose pedicle is
based on the fasciomuscular perforating arterioles. It is preferred
for trunk and extremity defects although it can be used in other
topographies. There are four varieties whose usefulness depends
on the amount of tissue available for mobilization. It is a flap with
few serious complications. We present eight cases of basal cell
and squamous cell carcinoma resolved with this technique, with
good functional and cosmetic results.
