ABSTRACT

The rotated nasolabial or hinged flap is obtained from the ipsilateral melolabial region of the defect. It allows us to reconstruct the nasal ala and adjacent structures entirely in a single surgical step. Although there are other techniques for reconstructing this region, such as composite grafts of the auricle, frontal flaps, nasolabial flaps, and free flaps, we consider this technique an option for reconstructing this area with adequate functional and cosmetic results. We describe 11 cases of basal cell carcinomas treated with this flap, showing the results obtained.
