ABSTRACT

Introduction: Kikuchi-Fujimoto disease is considered a necrotizing histiocytic lymphadenitis of infrequent presentation. Its diagnosis is anatomopathological. In the current global context of the COVID-19 pandemic, this viral disease ranges from an asymptomatic condition to severe pneumonia, in addition to other atypical presentations.
Patient information: white female, 34 years old, with health history and no toxic habits, who presented with fever between 38 and 390C, once or twice a day, without chills, which decreased with the administration of antipyretics. After the first 13 days of the onset of symptoms, the fever disappeared for six days and then reappeared with the same characteristics; for this reason it was decided to admit her to the hospital. The diagnosis of Kikuchi-Fujimoto disease was obtained after several complementary tests.
Conclusions: the report of this case could announce the possible location of the new SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus among the etiologies of EKF.
