ABSTRACT
Trauma to the facial region compromises not only the anatomical structures of the face, but also impairs the individual's perception of himself, generating psychosocial changes that affect his quality of life. The reconstructive options for the lips when they suffer tissue loss must be taken into account for injuries of all kinds, plasty being a challenge for maxillofacial surgeons in training to the most experienced. We present the report of a case of upper lip reconstruction of a patient who suffered an animal attack, generating a loss of 3/3 in the upper structure, as well as a full-thickness right commissure where reconstruction of the upper lip was performed with the Estlander flap in conjunction with a rotation and advancement flap. Obtaining good postoperative results and recovering aesthetics in a horizontal loss of soft tissue. Soft tissue reconstruction should be prioritized as one of the primary goals in this type of case to achieve results that favor the integrity of the patient.
