ABSTRACT

Introduction: life table is a valuable tool for measuring the impact of health care on a population, in this case we report the situation of the population using the health services of the Institute of Social Security and Social Services in the State of Jalisco, Mexico. Objective: determine the life expectancy in the covered population of ISSSTE in Jalisco, Mexico. 2016. Material and methods: we used the abrogated method from Reed-Merrell, to calculate the life expectancy in age groups. Results: by 2016, life expectancy was 80.81 years. Conclusions: the calculated life expectancy should be considered as a first approximation for the population of federal and State employees in the State of Jalisco.
