ABSTRACT

Health care associated infections are considered one of the biggest problems by the World Health Organization, since they directly affect patient safety, which is why in Mexico epidemiological surveillance is in charge of the Hospital Epidemiological Surveillance Network (RHOVE) made up of 353 hospital units in the country. This sentinel surveillance system was established in 1997, the purpose of which is to publicize the epidemiological panorama of health care associated infections based on the information provided on the platform, taking as a precedent the report in 2015, when the main infections in the different hospitals of the country were informed.
