ABSTRACT

About the middle of the 90’s, the Orthodontic Department of the Pediatric National Institute in México City developed the early orthopedic treatment in patients with cleft lip and palate, based on the general principles of functional matrix and growth and development of facial structures. Observation and Longitudinal follow up of our patients brought about the current management of three-dimensional orthopedics and soft tissues to provide an adequate facial growth and better psycho-social development.
