ABSTRACT

Introduction: fibrosarcoma is a malignant neoplasm composed of fibroblasts, representing 1-3.6% of sarcomas in adults. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and computed tomography (CT) are essential tools for diagnosis. Clinical case: a 47-year-old female with a tumor in the lower left extremity. MRI revealed a tumor in the extensor digitorum longus muscle and the first finger. Conclusion: fibrosarcoma is a tumor that should be considered in the diagnosis of these lesions due to its high malignancy. Imaging studies are the first diagnostic step when there is a clinically malignant soft tissue tumor. This case report exposes the key characteristics for the correct diagnosis.
