Bypass aórtico ascendente-a-descendente por esternotomía en hipoplasia de arco aórtico y coartación aórtica

ABSTRACT

We present the case of a 10-year-old male patient with a diagnosis of aortic arch hypoplasia and aortic coarctation. He presented systemic arterial hypertension. A long segment of hypoplastic aorta was observed preoperatively, which made it difficult to clamp for a posterolateral thoracotomy repair. A Dacron extracardiac graft No. 20 with cardiopulmonary bypass was inserted between ascending and descending aorta by sternotomy, with a pump time of 121 minutes and an aortic cross-clamping time of 88 minutes.
