ABSTRACT
Coarctation of the thoracic aorta is a common congenital
defect that may go unnoticed until adulthood. However,
in this age group it is associated with high morbidity and
mortality due to complications such as stroke, hypertension,
coronary disease and aortic root aneurysms. Management
of an adult patient with aortic coarctation associated
with an aortic root aneurysm a surgical challenge.
We present here a case of a 52 year-old patient with aortic
coarctation and an aortic root aneurysm, with a twotime
successfully surgical correction.
