ABSTRACT

Therapeutic plasma exchange used in post-transplant patients with acute antibody-mediated rejection is a technique that paves the way for acute management in these patients. The TPE 2000 membrane, used in a machine for continuous renal replacement therapy in the intensive care unit, is probably the best option for initial management in the acute patient. This expands extracorporeal treatment by removal of large molecules present in antibody-mediated rejection.
