ABSTRACT
Splenic hydatidosis is a rare parasitic disease. Its only treatment is surgery. Traditionally, splenectomy has been performed by open surgery. The development of laparoscopic techniques and the possibility of hand-assisted performance allows the reliable treatment of this pathology, involving all the advantages from laparoscopic surgery.
