ABSTRACT

The evaluation of the patient with a picture of hip pain entails considering some differential diagnoses such as traumatic and degenerative bone lesions, femoroacetabular impingement, acetabular labrum lesions, joint effusion, paralabral cyst, muscle lesions, etc., for which it is essential to obtain an adequate history taking and physical examination. The paralabral cyst of the hip is an infrequent pathology diagnosed incidentally in magnetic resonance studies where a labral lesion should be sought. They are generally asymptomatic but should be included as a possible cause when they present symptoms.
