ABSTRACT

Background: Melanoma is a malignant lesion with aggressive behavior, with a rapid evolutionary process that may cause melanic and amelanic lesions, particularly in the mucosa.
Clinical case: A 48-year-old male patient initially diagnosed as an asthmatic process and, given the poor response to treatment, he was sent to Otorhinolaryngology service, where a tracheal neoformation with a histopathological report of melanoma was confirmed.
Conclusions: The early identification of melanoma allows to offer the patient and clinician care choices and damage limitation.
